I've got a leak....
Im not too sure where it is coming from, but I was driving my car the other day, and all of the sudden it got louder so I figured I blew a gasget somewhere. Now the question is....where. it's on the passenger side of the engine. It's not coming from the DP, Y-pipe or turbo inlet pipes. Im not too sure where it is coming from maybe someone could think of where it may be coming from. I was thinking either the LIM or the gasket between the turbos and the engine, not too sure what that one is called. Those are the only two that I can think of off hand. Soo..... any ideas?

if it was any of the gaskets you mentioned earlier, you would get a higher than normal idle. the idle might also be rough, depending on where the leak is.
one way to check would be to get one of those throttle cleaning sprays (you can get them at any auto store) and spraying them over the gaskets while the car is idling. if there is a leak, the spray would get sucked in and the car would idle at even higher rpms.

You may have blown out a gasket between the block and the turbo manifold saw this happen once. My friend who owns the car was driving and it got really loud all of a sudden. Hope that's not it because the fix means pulling the whole turbo set up to get at the gaskets.

Well if you are running the stock IC I would definitely remove the lower rubber IC hose and check it out. I had a leak there a year ago and it stumped me. My vacuum was normal but I couldnt boost above 5psi no matter what I did. Check out that hose, you cant tell if its split by merely looking at it, you must remove it to examine it closer. Hope thats your problem, good luck.

I am running a spearco intercooler. If it is the gasket between the block and the turbos which I am starting to think it is. I will gladly remove the turbos......and send them for a pedicure at BNR. I just don't really have the money for that now. So I hope it is not that. I guess I will find out today or tomorrow. Takeing the turbos out shouldn't be to much of a problem.
P.S. - Thanks charlie.

Where do you think your leak is and why does it have anything to do with porting your wastegate. To port it you have to take off the turbos completely and get the wastegate that is currently on them ported, its not simply a "part" that bolts on.

I think the leak is coming from where the turbo bolts to the block...I started the car and stuck my head under the car and thats where the noise was coming from. So....If im taking the turbos off I should port the wastegate while they are off because I am having boost spikes right now. If I were to port the wastegate I'm pretty sure it would get rid of the spikes.

Dan, the spikes are not severe and are only the personality of the midpipe. Either wait and order a set of 99's or else replace the gasket and go easy for a while until you have all your stuff done. The pop off valve you have is nice, but you shouldn't be relying on that for your primary boost control. The reason your boost is going up past where you want it is because you've simply got the mods to push 14psi. The stock turbos aren't worth spending the money to port when there's better options out there.
