Talking It's taken a year but my RX6 is finally in!

Since I got my car a year ago I have planned and waited for this day. For various reasons such as finance and waiting for parts, this project took far longer than I would have wanted. But well I am almost there!

Special thanks to Rich from Gotham Racing and Chuck from Rotary Extreme and Vince who sold me the RX6. These guys have made this day possible and here is the (nearly) finished product

http://home.pacific.net.sg/~iloveniki/myalbum

Can't upload the pictures as they are too large. Basically my setup is a Apexi RX6 turbo with a HKS V-Mount and Fluidyne Radiator with a Microtech LTX8.

Other knick knacks would include Aquamist Water Injection, HKS Twin Power, Exedy Super Single Clutch, Lightened Pulleys, Cusco Coilovers, Brembo Rotors etc.

Currently only running 0.7bar of boost as I am still running the base map. Waiting for my Fuel Pump to come in before I can begin tuning her up. Gunning for 400bhp on 1.2bar of boost.

In regards to this setup I must comment that water temps have DROPPED drastically. Must be something to do with the coolant lines running through the stock twins. But Oil Pressure is up. Get around 60+ degree celsius in cruising and 70+ on hard driving. Wastegate sound is awesome!

Next project: Improve hadling. Looking at getting a new set of Toe Links from RX7.com

Thanks for the compliment. How much hp? Haha! Not as much as your twin turbo V8 thats for sure! I haven't dynoed her yet but I reckon 300bhp at the wheels is realistic? Given I am running relatively low boost. Hard to tell because the RX6 pull is very smooth and you don't get that violent surge so sometimes I find it doesn't feel fast.

I always loved big torquey V8 engines but with our tax structure here in Singapore, you pay much more for a big cc engine. So in theory the 1.3l wankel is one of the cheapest in terms of tax you can get here but the petrol consumption almosts makes that a non issue.

So how much bhp your car is pushing? 600+? 1000???? :-) Your turbos are scarily close to the front intakes. Won't they melt the bumper?

Venting to atmosphere. I can't vent it to the exhaust as the apexi midpipe to vent the wastegate back to requires removal of my cat.

I tried recording it with my digicam but sound quality sucks. Sounded like my speakers exploded. Will try again when I have the time

I wouldn't be that conservative. I would think it could pull 300 at only 10psi.

Don't now how much hp mines pushing yet. I'm just enjoying driving it around for now. Going to put the car down again for a huge transplant so it really doesn't matter

Glad to see everything worked out for you Eugene.......I was hoping in the end it would all be worth it. I remember counting, and I think you and I exchanged like over 100 e-mails over the course of a few months

Nice work, glad you got it going.I notice your radiator seems to be lying very flat or are my eyes deceiving me? or were you not able to get some more angle on it?

Car looks good btw, I didn't see any FDs over there but I didn't expect to either.

Thats what I thought when I first saw the radiator after getting the car back. Well it is a kit from HKS and all the supplied brackets and instructions require the radiator to be mounted like that. I was skeptical at first after the low water temps don't lie! Guess it is more of a problem when stationary but so far no adverse effects

You here on business? Do drop me a mail at sennarocks@pacific.net.sg next time you are coming around. There are only around 15 FDs over here and most don't see time on the road so catching a glimspe of one is a rarity.

Well boost starts building around 2800rpm and full boost comes around 4000rpm. Given I am running at only 0.7bar it is pretty impressive. Very smooth too. Flat torque curve but lacks the "push in the seat" feel when the secondary turbo opens in my previous stock twins but the engine bay is much neater
