Thumbs up It's Alive!

Well after a looooong weekend in the garage, my beast is back on the road. There were a few holdups with waiting on parts; I was hoping to be done weeks ago.

All the new stuff:

complete Gotham rebuild with new stock 2mm apex seals, new rotor bearings and main bearings etc.
removed all sequential crap
removed all a/c crap
removed all p/s crap
removed Bonez high flow cat, threw midpipe back on
removed airpump
Kan's super duper turbo spooling exhaust ports
BNR Stage 3 (dynamic seal) turbos
850cc primary injectors
various minor stuff like new coolant hoses

Initial impression:

I'm very happy I removed the a/c and p/s, although removing the p/s proved to be a huge pain in the ***. Driving the R1 without p/s is not that difficult and the gain in steering feedback is huge.

I have the Profec B turned off and am only seeing 5-7 psi. I'm also keeping revs below 4000 rpm during my initial breakin of 500 miles. The difference is astonishing---instant throttle response, and the car pulls damn hard considering the rpm and boost limitations. Exhaust note sounds awesome too; damn I missed my midpipe .

Keep in mind that the midpipe, parallel turbos, and port should have really hurt my low rpm power while increasing the high end. I haven't seen the high end yet, but the low end is *very* impressive. The turbos spool very quickly, and sound great .

We'll see what happens as Kan tunes the car.....those in the dfw area should keep an eye (and an ear) out for a red blur screaming past accompanied by the sound of a pissed off chainsaw

RICH! whats up. I drove Stephens car saturday night and that thing is nuts! 20 psi of boost and that thing is sickning fast. I am so happy b/c I have a 3rd gen coming and I have a set already made for it! I will never go single with a 3rd gen. These turbos will only get better . Get that boost up there and get you damn good numbers!

Later on,
Bryan

Never. BNR made me sign an agreement never to dyno the turbos. They make 926 rwhp. That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it

Let us know how the turbos spool and when you achieve full boost.

i rode in rich's car last night and at only 7psi those turbos are very responsive, i was so impressed. and damn i didnt realize how much i missed that midpipe anyways those turbos will definatly give single turbo a run for their money for sure. i cant wait till it gets thoroughly tuned and put at a high boost, that'll be a fun ride

Can you define 'very responsive?' I hope they are but we'll see......... i hope they are not like the other BnR turbos (upgraded twins) because they weren't very respomsive. The gas pedal felt like you were sticking your foot in a bown of warm oatmeal after installing them non-sequentially. They were a huge diasspointment. Then again maybe this guy will come up with some real dyno numbers. On another threat there was a phantom dyno run ........LOL

a bowl of warm oatmeal?? hahahhahahaha

that was well put.

well I had some conversation with the builder of m2 turbos last night and he seemed stumped on what bryan is doing to get those numbers.

congrats rich...I cant wait to see how she does. You will probably be the first to post 400+hp dyno sheets on upgraded twins.

My new radiator and knock sensor is going in this weekend hopefully...I will dyno my m2 set shortly after. I cant wait to compare them.

I really hope these turbos pan out. I will have something to look forward to for the future. (if the response is as good as you say)

good luck

I think I found the reason for the NON RESPONSIVNES -Installing them NON-SEQUENTALLY - Twin Turbo set ups get their RESPONSIVENESS from being SEQUENTIAL!
