intercooler up grade

i upgraded my intercooler. i like it but do miss the loud whoosh of the bov.also im having trouble with getting more that 9 psi on my primary turbo. but now that the turbo has to fill a bigger space i figured that it might take longer to spool.

Looks great. Is that the ASP/M2 intercooler?

It seems to me that you should be getting higher boost with a more efficient intercooler. The turbos "should" be working just as hard as before, and there should be less pressure drop now.

1. Changing the IC should have nothing to do with the BOV.
2. As Adam said, you should be boosting more now. Check the couplers or the IC for leaks.

the couplers are new ill look them over though. just so i understand i was saying i liked how the bov used to sound, it was loud and forcefull. now its very subdued. i figured it was because the intercooler was bigger and the turbo was still running at the same efficiency and not able to compress as much air as before when it had to fill a smaller space? thanks for the replys. also part of my problem might be that the last owner took the pills out. i have the blitz dual sbc that i used to have on hooked up on version #2 but i wasnt able to boost past 10 psi. so i hooked it up on version #1 and was boosting a 11-10-12.5 before the intercooler change. now my primary will only boost to 8-8.5 but the secondary will boost to 14 most ive ever tried. also since i didnt have a pill i used a adjustable restrictor valve on the pre-control line. and after any time i boost with the second turbo it sounds like the wast gate wont close and i dont have any primary boost. but if i rev to 4500 the second will still kick in. im still trying to figure it out. i have all new solenoids except for the pre control.also both the vac and preshure chambers are good. thanks agian for the imput.

Put the stock pill and hose back in the precontrol line. An adjustable valve there will not work properly

i dont have a stock pill. by chance do you know what size i need and if i could get one at a local outparts store? also you dont think it would work if i put a pill in the line and put the ristrictor valve in before it too?

Go to a Mazda dealer, and order the hose with the pill in it. Do not use a valve in that line. It will not work right.

A pill is a "roundish" object placed in the hose to restrict airflow. The pill has a small hole drilled in it to allow an exact amount of air to pass thru.
