Intercooler piping question?

Ok I was looking around in the engine bay for something that was causing the extremly loud hissing and what seemed to be boost leak. Lo and behold I found the rubber or silcoln piece that connects the top of the intercooler to the turbos to have a large section missing out of it. I beleive this is whats causing the hiss and loud woosh i've been hearing under boost. Now I looked on www.hosetechniques.com for a replacement connector and they only sell 2" and 3" in peices. So I measured this peice and its 2.75" inches. Now I was wondering if I would be able to fit the 3" peice in there or do I need to order this replacement part from mazda? Its the stock intercooler and its the peice that connects the top of the intercooler to the pipe that comes off the turbo.

2.75" is the correct diameter, and lots of places sell it. Get 2.75" hose.

HoseTechniques does carry 2.75" ID hoses (and other sizes):

Red Hose List

I replaced all my couplers from them last year. On their site when it says 2" or 3" hoses, that's the length of the hose, not the interior diameter.

Ok, I know i need an ID of 2.75 inches but the length of the hose, do I get a 3 inch long one or a 2.75 inch long one? The one I measured is 2.75 inches long and all I see on websites are 2 inch and 2 inch hoses. Someone correct me if Im worng. I think I go with a 3 inch long one correct?

Ok, if you measured it at 2.75", then don't get a 2" one, get the 3" one.

Also in the interim till the new coupler arrives can I JB Weld the crack in the old one to lessen the boost leak? Or would I rish damaging something other then the already broken coupler?

Running with a boost leak is not really good for the turbos. The reason is that your turbos are trying to achieve a certain level (i.e. 10 PSI). If there is a leak, it will never reach that limit, but it will keep trying. This will overwork the turbos.

IMO, unless this is your only car, just wait for the new coupler.

Home depot sells some cheap ones that will work for a few days until the new coupler shows up.

It's the only car I have for the next 2 days as the beater is getting a replacement axle so I have to drive it to school tomorrow and saturday, I can try and see if a local autoparts store would have something like it but I doubt it, I'll have to drive real conservatively and stay off the boost, until i get the coupler which I'll try and over night here.

Btw, what would I look for at Home depot, something in the plumbing section?
