intercooler HP gains?

i dyno'd my FD with intake/fullexhaust/nonseq on the stock ECU/stock IC/10psi and it was 265whp and the AFR's were in the low 11's -just about perfect.

i was thinking i could get a nice upgraded SMIC and stay on the stock ECU and remain in the 11's AFR's, but i'm wondering how much of an HP gain i would get from it. i know an aftermarket SMIC would cool better and have much less pressure drop, which must increase power.

the stock IC is doing a decent job for me at 10psi (i'm on the stock ECU anyways...) so i'm basically wondering how much power it will give me and if its going to be worth it at stock boost... thanks guys!

I doubt you'll see a significant gain but your turbos will love you.

You will gain 10 to 15 HP. What i would do is get a Power FC, rather than a Intercooler. That just me. But you will gain aleast 10 to 15 HP on a bigger intercooler. But think about it before paying. ECU or intercooler....

i dont really need EMS at this point... another 10whp would put me at 275whp, which is plenty at 10psi.

If you get your self a Power FC you could go up to 300 something. With the set up you have already.Reading almost every thread people put up i have seen that once you install a front mount, you get boost crip. Which is bad if you do get a boost crip with a stock ECU if im not mistaken. But its up to you. Its your car your money. But think about it and read some thread on this forum. I learn alot about rotary from reading other peoples problem.

you wont get direct HP gains from the IC.... but the better flow and cooler temps will make your whole system run better = more HP

HP gains from an intercooler will depend on a great number of things. I would agree with the rest of the group though ~10-15. I too though would recommend the power FC. The drivability gains alone are worth it.

I second PFC. Dollar for HP Intercoolers are a very poor investment for a mod. However if you want your car to run the way it should have from the factory go with the PFC and that will lead you to where the power really comes from
