intake air temp sensor

I'm in the process of getting my car tuned. My tuner recomends that i relocate my intake air temp sensor. Where can i find this sensor, and where is a good spot to mount it?

The IAT sensor is located on the underside of the UIM. You will need to plug the hole once it is removed ( I am not sure of the thread size and pitch). Depending on the intercooler setup and piping you will want to reloacte somewhere after the intercooler but before the throttle body. If using the PFC you will need to make changes to the sensor voltage so you get the appropriate reading.

I hope that helps.

Threaded in the under side of the upper intake manifold . The plastic part is blue with a black plug. Mine is threaded into a nylon plug fitted in an injector bung on the Greddy elbow .Better advice can be given if we know what elbow you have .

Is the AIT connector yellow or orange?

Tap the greddy elbow and put the sensor there. I would actually leave the original sensor where it is and just unplug it. These things go out of spec with age and heat. I'd just get a new one from Malloy Mazda. This way you don't have to worry about plugging the original hole. The connector should be black with yellow on the inside unless its a new harness. In that case the inside will be white.

the outside is black but the inside is color coded. There are two connectors on the same part of the harness, one is yellow and one is orange.

Thanks Alberto. I did do a search and could find nothing in reference to the connector itself. It's not in my nature to ask questions unless I cannot find answers on my own.

Does anyone know if this will work work with the stock harness? I kinda doubt it but i wasnt sure if those type of end connections are pretty common, maybe it will.

If the sensor does not have the same air temp vs resistance as stock, you will have a lots of fun trying to set up the Air Temp vs Inj table in the PFC.
Why, because you can only change the fuel side of the table, not the temperature side.

You don't HAVE to get a Greddy elbow. This is where I mounted mine.
