installing shortshifter help!!! asap

The only ??? I have is taking the center console panel off.. The instructions say(( to pull straight up and it unsnaps..)) Well the damn thing seams like it wants to break than unsnap!!! I dont want to break any more of my interior ,, I dont know if you guys have noticed but 3rd gen have cheap interior and alot of platic object seam t o break on me all the time.. anyway does it really unsnap or does it sometimes break??? Has anybody broke one yet???? I need this asap...!

Mine pulls up easilly. I think it gets easier the more you remove it. Just pry up one of the corners.

Did you buy the short shifter off of ebay? I'm curious how the two compare. Specifically, is the oem short shifter the same as the aftermarket shortshifter with just a shorter shaft above the ball joint? Please let us know, by posting a comparison

Yeah for the console, i think it snaps in at 4 places.. just be careful, and pull the sides slowly until you hear a snap.. u THINK u broke it, but u just unsnapped it.. goodluck..

MOTO its really easy. 3 bolts and some gaskets and
small pieces, mine went in, in about 20 mins.

Make sure you take out the ash tray first, before you remove the center console....

Yeah, installing one of those is the simplest forms of mechanics you can do. Should take you 20 minutes starting with opening up your package

ok evrybody its done!!! Not hard at all..just like canman said.... I bought mine from pettit and its real real short..
I guess I will cut the plastic peice at the top of my shift boot so I can screw my factory shift **** all the way down..Sshould take about 1 hour for a newbie
