installed rx7store.net res midpipe - pics

this pipe is awsome... solid construction, was a little 'rough around the edges' but it sits under the car, its not like it needs to be polished (heheheheh)....came with gaskets and bolts, perfect fit, easy install, sounds AWSOME.

i have only gone part throttle since i have not had my fuel maps changed yet, but at idle it is NOT louder, but just a bit lower tone, really nice low tone, and on the gas I really didnt think it was louder than with the cat but definetly a better tone, i love it. once i get my maps adjusted ill do some WOT runs and report back with performance notes and recorded sound clips.

on the car:

If your getting rid of it I may be interested, PM me a price if you decide to get rid of it and if it sounds like a good deal I may just pick it up

I have that midpipe, its great, my car has close to the same mods. watch your boost guage closely the first few times at WOT, with the twins I had serious boost creep issues...I ported my wastegate a few days ago and dont have to worry about it now.

yeah, I will be watching the boost, may have to port also, a test I'll do after I get my maps modded.

well, i dont have dyno numbers fo ya, but I can tell you that it will definetly make the car much quiter than a straight midpipe with relativly low power loss (maybe none)..... I know because my other car has a straight midpipe and is much louder (although it is also a single turbo car)

Since I'm a n00b, I'll look for confirmation here. But, I believe there is no difference between a resonated MP and a regular MP in terms of flow. The resonated MP's have "extra" layers welded to them for sound dampening. Some of them go the extra mile to help "appear" like a cat to pass visual inspection.

nope, the res midpipe has an actual muffler welded into the center section, it does reduce flow to some degree because it is a baffeled chamber and not a straight shot out

Which catback do you have on your street car?

I wonder how this would sound with the Apexi N1 Dual that sounds like DUNG with a straight midpipe.

Im going to get one....i will let ya know. the n1 dual with a midpipe is beyond loud...it sounds insane.

I want to trade my n1 dual for an m2 dual tip...but hopefully the resonated midpipe will make me happy enough to not have to.

what did that thing run cost wise? the store site is down.

Let us know how it sounds artguy, I'm curious because I was looking into getting the N1 dual, however I was going to go with a midpipe also.

Anybody know how the M2 dual sounds with a regular midpipe?

I have this MP with a N1 single tip and i really dont think it sounds to load at idle or low revs but up high it sounds great. I havnt had my N1 with a straight pipe or anything else so I really have nothing to compare it to.
I have some videos of my car that i ould post so you can hear it but the vented wastegate is louder then my N1 up top.

yer crazy...the n1 dual might sound good to you...but thats cuz its not idling or revving next to the m2 dual tip, the pettit, or the tanube.

the n1 dual is obnoxiously loud with a midpipe. the drone is thick.

it is not a low drone..its more of a middle pitch. I just prefer lower sounding exhausts...more so than the tornado thru a coffee can sound that the n1 dual has.
