innovate WB install: Can i place the controller here?
so im at the midway installtion point of my innovate WB unit.. i was wondering if its safe to mount the controller under the lip of the firewall? the wire connected to the sensor isnt very long so i wanted to move it out of the turbo area as much as i could and i got it to sit behind the UIM will this be okay to mount here or will it over heat/ be exposed to too much heat?
Also what wire are you guys tapping into for the switched 12volt source? i ran the wires through the steering column so anything under the steering wheel would be ideal...
thanks in advance

In my photo album I have a pic of 2 ADD-A-FUSES used to tap for power. I did the entire install differently from what you are doing so you can ignore the other pics. Sorry I did not title the pictures.

bubbles.... I havent seen pics of your setup but is sounds like you mounted the sensor near your turbo like inches away from the turbo. If so this is bad for your sensor and will very likely kill it soon enough. you should move it furhter back. I have mine mounted basically below my gearbox and have the wire come up in my tunnel and into the cabin

I stuck my connecting piece in/under the central arm rest next to where the shifter comes out of the transmission tunnel.
It's a close fit, but there is space for the unit to nestle there.

There isn't a "stock" location for an innovative LC-1... Are you talking about where to put the actual sensor, or where to locate what the sensor connects to prior to wiring it up?

Must have forgotten to attach that pic mate...
Though I think that most people with these are in agreement that they mounted it by the shifter, there is *just* enough space to fit it in the interior of the vehicle on the e-brake side.

I mounted my controller (unit the wbo2 sensor plugs directly into) right where you originall thought to mount it. Just under the small lip on the firewall close to the hard brake lines. I do not have any problems but I have a longrunner single turbo manifold to that takes my turbo a good distance away from the box. My WB02 sensor is mounted about 12in from the turbo and has been working fine for over a year and a half. I plan to move it further, but not until later.
