Injectors clogged?

So i bought a FD. And i bought it with a fault. It wouldnt rev past 5500rpm whatsoever. It worked nicely up to that rpm. I tried driving the car to see if something changed, and something unexpected happened. It started to run on only one rotor now and then, and soon it only run on one rotor all the time EXCEPT between 4500-5500rpm. Now i have checked the ignition system, and everything looks fine there.
Could this be faulting injectors? maybe clogged since it run on both rotors the first hour.. ? i suspect the injectors because the plugs doesnt get soaked with fuel and it doesnt shoot flames when it hits the 5500rpm wall.. Any ideas before i start to rip the injectors out for testing?

btw, the car has been parked in a garage for a long time without being used.

Have you tried adjusting your Fuel Pressure Regulator?

Most times if the car won't go above 5500 RPM or so, first things to check are -

- plugs
- plug wires
- ignition harness

The fuel injectors are actually pretty good on the FD and typically don't clog up. Start with the ignition stuff - pulling the injectors is a BIG pain in the butt. If the ignition doesn't fix it, it's probably due to be gone through.

Is the car modified at all?

Completely stock fd. I checked for spark when it run on one rotor. and i got spark on all four plugs. So i doubt it is the ignition system. I measured the coils, plug wires and replaced the plugs.

make sure that the line to the map sensor is plugged in, I forgot to plug mine back in and it behaved similarly to this.
