Inexpensive way to keep track of car parts

If your like most FD owner's your car is often in pieces, sometimes for long periods of time. Keeping track of the parts and where they go, even with access to the FSM, can be a challenge if you don't work on your car regularly.

I had the fun of parting out a car a few years ago. Before the tear down, I decided I wanted to bag and label everything so when I sold the parts I could include fasteners, clips, bands, etc. Being frugal (meaning cheap), and not wanting to pay for Ziploc bags, I searched for a good source of resealable bags that included white blocks I could write on.

I ended up buying my supplies from U.S. Plastic Corporation. Since then I have also switched to using them as a source for use inside the home also -- the bags meet FDA standards.

Figured I would share with my fellow FD owners since we can all stand to save money to put back in to our cars, not to mention saving time when putting a car back together.

Good find! Those are awesome. I wish I would of known about these 2 months ago. My entire spare tire well is filled with about 200,000 ziploc bags of screws. Should be fun when the car is going back together.
