Im a newbie and trying to decide

between a used rx7 and a new z28 or mustang gt. For a while i thought that the mustang was the greatest (at least until i realized how many of them are on the road). Then in my junior year (last year) the kid that sat next to me in math bought a rx7. Everyday he would bring in the manual and study it. From the first glimpse i was hooked. Any advice on which car to pick (considering this is an rx7 board im guessing the rx7). One quick question: how bad is the insurance for say a 95 rx7? Thanks a lot.

prepare to get

Dunno much about the insurance on a 3rd gen, but anything having to do with the actualy workings of the car, the FD beats those others, hands down... there is a reason why your buddy studies/did study those manuals so much....THE CAR JUST PLAIN KICKS ***

oh yeah, welcome to the forums....try a search, this question has been asked an innumerable (is that even a word?) amount of times........

The only person that will know that will be your insurance adjuster.... Insurance rates are state, age, and vehicle dependent.

As far as choosing between a Z28, a Mustang GT, and an FD (3rd gen RX-7), well.....we are the wrong people to ask Before I bought my FD, I had considered a Firehawk, and just like the Z28s, they had shitty ergonomics. The mustang, IMO, has even WORSE ergonomics. Both will probably be a little cheaper to mod than an FD, but the FD will have superior ergonomics, aerodynamics, and handling capabilities.

Having owned one for years and years and doing all of the work myself, let me surprise you by saying I wouldn't necessarily consider it the better choice over the Mustang or anything else. Yes, the car itself is superior in just about any performance or asthetic detail, but that's only when it's running ... otherwise it's like having a beautiful gold-digging bitch who's only a pleasure to be around when she's asleep.

that's a nice analogy....but Scotty-2-Hotty here was talking about modding the cars.....so naturally I assumed that he would be working on the car himself....plus, he's in Slots Vegas, which is pretty close to SoCal so he could always send it to a rotary shop or something...

I imagine the insurance numbers on the 94/95 FD, new mustang GT or Z28 would be pretty close to each other.
