Question igniter?

Does anyone know how to check the condensor on the igniter ground wire?

The condensor is just a capacitor (low pass filter) that prevents ignition noise from leaking back into the rest of the car's electronics (and appearing on your radio, for example). It serves no other purpose, and the car will run fine without it. What problem are you having?

If you want to check it, you'll need a high-quality RLC meter, or a resistance box and an oscilloscope, and a signal generator, and some time....

No spark. I've checked the coils, wires, and all the fuses and relays. I dont know how to check the igniter, but noticed that there is no continuity though that capacitor and thought that might be my problem.

best way yo check igniter,,,is to borrow one off a known running car,,,is easy to switch out and check

As I said, the condensor is not required by the ignition system. It's not supposed to have continuity, either -- it's a capacitor.

Check your two CAS pickups. You should have an RPM signal during cranking, do you? If either of your CAS pickups is not working you will have no spark. Check the wiring on the harness where they connect to the CAS pickups; these have been known to break.

Also, check the obvious: I had a long problem with ignition, and I found that even after extensive cleaning, fouled plugs will prevent any spark from occuring by shorting the electrode to ground. The easy way to check is to remove a plug wire and hang it in close proximity to the block. You should have a spark to ground during cranking. If not, check the ignitor/coils.

I'm in the process of putting an engine harness in. Hopefully that will take care of any bad connections. If that doesn't fix it I guess I'll try someone's igniter

with a High impedence test light, def need a mac or snap on, probe the coil connector and see if you get power when cranking. you can switch terminals and put the test light on the pos and see if you get a pulsed ground signal. the light wil flicker. that said lots of people have misdiagnosed no spark conditions. are you sure you have no spark?

Yea, I stuck a screw driver in the end of the plug wire and held it just off the block and had someone else crank it. No spark. I guess I need to finish putting in my engine harness and go from there. thanks for everyone's help.
