Did this just happen or has the car been idling high since you got it? What's your vacuum (I hope you have a boost gauge)?
If it just started happening, sometimes the map sensor hose pops off, you'll get a high, crappy idle.

It could be that you tighened the throttle cable a bit too tight/short (this is what happen to a friend of mines). If its not that, check for leaks in your intake system like at the UIM or LIM (gasp).
Good luck

i would say normal idle is from 700-900 or so. I think you can adjust the idle from the upper intake manifold. there is a screw that adjusts how much the tb is open and how much air is let in. Could also be a non-resetted TPS??? not sure.

I have the same problem. Idles at 1500 rpms, like when I stop at a light or somthing. What I'm doing right now is I turn on the AC and then turn it off right away. This seems to drop the idle to about 9000 rpms and then it goes to 1000 rpms and then drops and settles at 8-9000 rpms. I do this at every stop light. Don't have time to look for the leak.

I have the exact same idle that can be lowered by turning the A/C on and off. I can't find an intake leak and have changed the UIM, LIM and did the silicone vacuum hoses. Could this be a problem with the stock ECU?

Adjust the idle screw. Pull any engine codes you may have. Check the other stuff that was mentioned and pray it is not the LIM!!
