Idle issues

Hey guys I'm having some issues with my FD. It has a large street port from Pineapple Racing, Efini twins, Pettit 3" dp, Pettit 3" mid pipe, Apexi N1 muffler, Trust intakes, Greddy large vmic, all emissions removed/blocked off, ported throttle body, rebuilt 550 cc primaries, Bosche 1600 cc secondaries, Streetlite 11 lb flywheel, and PFC. Anyways it sometimes has issues idling. It seems like after I drive it for a while and roll up to a red light or stop sign it will stall when I put it in neutral to coast up. Not always, only sometimes! Seems to me like it could be some sort of electrical issue. Help!!!

Additional info:

It seems to be worse when there is additional load on the motor i.e. radiator fan, headlights, power steering

What does it idle at normally? Have you tried adjusting the idle with the throttle screw?

~900 rpm's. I haven't yet. Going to try it out tomorrow. I suppose relearning the idle adjustment thru the PFC would work, but I don't want to lose my map.

Mine started doing the same thing this Spring (street port, PFC, 850cc primaries, 1680 secondaries, single turbo & more). After looking over my vacuum lines to make sure none popped off and after talking to my rotary shop we thought that the Idle Air Control (IAC) might be the culprit. I unplugged my IAC and set the base idle screw to prevent the car from stalling. If the car remained running when coming to a stop we could assume the IAC was the problem, if the car still stalled then we had another issue (vacuum leak) to find. Well, the car stayed running with the IAC disconnected. I replaced the IAC and reset the base idle stop screw back to where it was originally set at and have not had any more stalling issues when pushing the clutch in & coming to a stop. Hope this helps you guys.

same happened to me. then I kept the double throttle open. It wasn't a fix, but a work-around. No more bogging out for me.

You're welcome. Hope it helps you out.

Make sure you get the car up to operating temps before you set the base idle stop screw. You will probably need someone to keep some pressure on the gas pedal to keep the car running while you set the stop screw as with the IAC unplugged it will want to shut off when you let off the gas pedal.

Update:

So it turns out that the IACV was the issue. Got that sorted out for now. Again, thanks a lot for the help guys!
