Idle high

I have a high idle problem, I was giving the car a good thrashing the other night and after had a high idle problem. The car is idling at 1300rpm+/- and can be brought down by engaging 1st gear and letting the revs drop to below 1000rpm....this seems to pull the idle down, but not 750rpm where it should be. Is there an easy fix to this or should I go and by myself an RX7 Manual? Should I just adjust the idle screw or should I remove the intake plennium and do the vacuum hose fix? Any help would be appreciated!! I dont want to take the car to a rotor shop if I can do the fix myself!!

Sounds like your thermal wax rod may be causing the problem. Now nobody flame me on that =)... I had the same thing happen to me. But for the life of me I can't get the part # or the page info from the workshop manual... but yeah I belive its called a "Thermal wax rod" Controls idle speed after warmup.
