Idle crap

Strange...when I approach a red light at idle, the idle stays at 1k rpm...but after a few seconds it drops to 725

I know I'm not the only one...I tried to search but so many idle threads came up that it would take me DAYS to read them. Just looking for some suggestions so I can have it looked at on Friday at Rotary Power.

my idle was going high and low when my belts got bad or maybe its just a vacuum hoses leak for you.

If this happens consistently everytime you stop, you probably have a minor leak in LIM gasket or intake somewhere.

If it's just when you are warming up, it's normal. I wouldn't worry too much about it until if it's just once in a while.

If you start to notice 2 idle, one in gear (850 rpm) and another in neutral (>1k rpm), it's probably a LIM gasket leak if you still have the original paper gasket.

That's exactly what's happening...when i have the fans on the idle stays at 1,500 rpm...then drops to 1k. When the fans are off it sticks at 1k rpm, then drops to 725. If it is a leak my boost gauge doens't show anything wrong...i get about .75 bar with my mods being dp and cb...my vaccum at 1k idle is 500 mmg and at 725 is about 390-400 mmg

my idle used to be massively messed up... but the RX-7.com guys fixed it when I took it in for a lot of repairs. My idle was running so low that my car would die consistantly when the A/C was on, and seeing as it just turned Summer, I was dying in this Texas heat.

I think adjusting the idle just takes a screwdriver (they did it once in front of me).

warsaw, they adjusted the throttle cable for u. Mine also has this problem. My idle dropped really low sometimes when the ac was on, but after my coolant lines were replaced, it hasnt happened to me again, yet. not saying thats your problem tho.
