CA idle at 3500

alright guys i did a engine swap in my car and now it idles at 3500 and before i took the engine out it idled at 2000. a little back ground i pulled an engine from a automatic 93 stipped it down to the block and put everything from my old engine on it and instsalled it in a manual if that matters. just started it up and it idles at 3500. is there somthing i may have missed like a vacume line someplace. or is there some other place i need to be looking at.

Keith

You keep the AWS? That will make it idle at 3000 RPMs on a cold start.

No, if you "get rid of" the AWS by blocking it off, or by pulling its ECU connection, no extra air will be admitted into the UIM, and you will NOT get the 3000 rpm start-up characteristic. Instead, the cold-start rpm will be determined solely by the adjustment of the thermowax control on the firewall side of the throttle body.

i tried starting it in gear i was told it would bypass the aws and stay at idle but it still revs up to 3500. is there any other vacume lines hooked up that control the idle. im thinking it has to be somthing hooked up wrong or not at all. before i swapped the engine i didnt have any idle problems and its going above 3000 rpms like the aws would cause. what is the uim?

adjust the screw that's on the throttle body. It goes straight down.
