Identify these gauges.

Hey guys,

I am still a little bit undecided on what gauge set up i want... I do not want 10 gauges on my dash, nor do i want to cut holes in my glove box, nor do i want to mount a gauge pod on my dash, OR on my steering colum, and i do not want to have 2 gauges for the same thing (ie aftermarket oil pressure + stock oil pressure... god i hate seeing this).

I have come to the grey conclusion that oil temp, water temp, oil pressure, voltage and boost are all that i need to monitor with my set up. (simplified seq/intake/exhasut/deleted emissions/v mount/full turbo back/ported wg and boost controlled to 10psi/all maintainance mods)

So the idea that i came up with was to remove useless OEM guages from the cluster and replace them with aftermarket units that LOOK OEM only more accurate. Ie. remove the stock useless oil pressure gauge and the coolant temp guage. I had searched for someone with a similar set up and ran accross this picture.

Question #1: I like this setup (kudos to the owner), however i have NO clue what brand of gauges these are and where i can get them.

Question #2: Will removing the stock coolant/oil pressure gauge result in the car giving an error code from the diagnostic port? What are the lasting effects if any?

Personally i could do without the LED warning lights in those aftermarket gauges. I also wish that the background was the same matte black as the stock gauges, maybe even redish/orange digits like the stock odometer/tripometer.

Any ideas? comments? recomendations?

Thanks in advance,

=Ben

It says on the gauges: SPA. Pretty high quality units.

Removing gauges will not throw codes - just leave the senders in place.

1. It says the name on the gauges. SPA.

That picture is taken from the write-up on how to do the install on Max's site:

2. The ECU doesn't care if your dash is working or not.

About $300 a pop for the gauges and a massive pain to install. If there is one project I wish I had not undertaken, it is this one.

I wonder if that price includes sensors?

Looks like a promising setup, i will most likely have to repaint the gloss black to matte black so it blends in with the stock cluster.

Thanks for the info guys,
