Identify this fluid...

Ok, it's time to play the identify this fluid game. Since trying to keep my car from spitting out all different kinds of fluids. I saw some fluid under the car that has me stumped. I went to wipe it off the floor, it looks almost yellow, best description is like dried eggs (that dull mustard color). The consistency is what's throwing me off. It has a wax-like consistency, strong odor of gas. The only thing I can think of that has any kind of wax-like substance is the knock sensor. Anyone have a clue what this could be?

can you elaborate a bit more?

this happens before or after a drive? and when it hits the floor, its parallel with what? the radiator, more towards the tranny? etc etc

did you check all the fluids to try to pinpoint it that way?

Sounds like the gunk that can accumulate around the caps for the AST and thermostat housing and on the coolant level stick. But how it might have made it to the floor....?????

I haven't ever had it happen on my FD, but on other cars I've had gunk accumulate under the oil filler cap too, from moisture mixing with oil and the engine not running hot enough to evaporate it completely.

I found this on the floor of my garage, so I don't know exacly when it's dripping. It's more towards the tranny, right in the middle. Although the underbelly peice may be masking where it's coming from, I'll have to get under there to see if I can trace where it's hitting on that plastic cover.

Someone saw ur car and jerked it while staring at it, then you got the mess near the car.

jokes,

Maybe battery acid leaking that you sometimes see can be that sort of strange colour.

You have insufficient information regards to the unknown fluid.

You've smelled it and looked at it. But you forgot to lick it and taste it. Let us know how it taste like, maybe we can help you fix the problem with complete info.

The "goop" on my knock sensor used to drip down the rotor housing pretty bad when the car got hot. However I don't ever remember it ending up on the floor, and it was more of a brownish color. Look on your rotor housing to see if it is dripping. That would be my only guess.
