Agreed. There is an updated page for the cooling fan control circuit that shows this module, I scribbled some colors on it a few years ago to highlight the function of each wire.

IMHO, you can junk the fan recall harness. If you have proper fan control and you keep temps where they SHOULD be (in the '80s deg. C) there's no need for the fan control stuff. It's only necessary when you're running 107 deg. C like Mazda had it from the factory.
The recall harness by the ECU plugs in between the blue and white connectors from the ECU harness, has the plug you have pictured which plugs into a black box that bolts behind the ECU, and a ground wire. Ditch that. The fan relays have a harness that goes between the relays and the front harness - ditch that too, and you're done.
