Sounds like the same fluttering BOV on the Supra in the Fast and Furious. I think someone once mentioned it's an HKS, but the spring is just really really tight....

Yeah, JoeD is right, this is not the same car from Turbo. The one in Turbo is just a pretty boy car with lots of nice parts, but that's it. I would call it rice. The car in the video is from Marionette in Japan and it's been orange for years and years.

Well, it seems like Dave's site is running really slowly so I'm waiting on the long video to hear the BOV. If it sounds like a turkey, then it's HKS.

Thats funny. I had a 87 conquest that sounded just like that. It didn't have any form of a blow off valve, so when it was boosting and the throttle plate slammed shut (when you shifted) the air had no place to except back out the intake. The sound was the air passing back through the compressor and the intake. Only happend under good boost.. 17 or 18 PSI.

I have heard that sound is from having no BOV at all and the fluttering is the turbine "back-pedaling" because your no longer needing boost, the HKS SS BOV I heard is more like a whistle.

That makes sense because from what I hurd the sound is only from pushing too much boost for your BOV to where it would "back-pedal" the turbine. I have the HKS SS and it's just one loud chirp. From that discription it might damage your turbo.... too bad it sounds cool.

holy **** this is old!

anyways, upon further investigation, i came to the conclusion that that same sound is not from a BOV, yet it is from not having a BOV. at recent autocrosses that i have been to over the past three months, there was a conquest that let out a sound EXACTLY like that. i asked the owner about what kind of BOV it had, and he replied that it did not have a BOV. supposedly, it does not hurt the turbo on the conquest.

also, something i read on supraforums was that a sound like that (cho-cho-choo) is the sound of an insufficient/no BOV.

dont ask me why the orange car in the above videos is not running a BOV.
