Do you have a wideband O2?

Well, you won't get "right tuning" with the stock O2 sensor. You should tune the car with a wideband O2.

listen to Majik, there is NO way your mechanic could tune your car with the stock 02 sensor, it is not accurate at all under WOT, which is exactly why the stock ecu resorts to maps instead of relying on the 02 voltage. This is BTW, why A/F gauges are almost completely useless when using the stock 02 sensor.

I would seriously ask your mechanic how he is accurately tuning the car this way.....

EDIT: BTW, 11:1 sounds good and safe, especially if your car is daily driven. The stock A/F is 10:1 or less under WOT for comparison.

i personally dont have a wideband o2 but my mechanic does. hehe my last post was kinda misunderstanding. i just wanted to know what my mechanic was gonna set me AFR at and i wanted to compare it to my fellow rx7club members. so 10:1 is over kill? or should i stay at 11:1? i want to shoot some flames too.

11:1 is a good safe zone, 10:1 is a little rich to me. I tuned for 11:1 to 11:5:1 on the dyno.
