i'm planning on taking my car to the dragstrip this weekend after i get my new clutch installed. i have pettit streetport,ecu,full exhaust,intakes etc. i still have the stock ic though and was thinking of tie wrapping a large ice pack to the intercooler when i make my runs. any body tried this? am i crazy? bad idea?

I know this has to sound so dumb and so scary but Iwas actually thinking about this the other day. then I decided that the ice would probably melt by the time I was staged. Then Melts the bag. Lots of water and steam in engine bay. Then I thought about dry ice....It would look like your car was having some serious issues when you see al those white vapors coomin out.....crazy

You are crazy for running a new clutch before breaking it in. Make sure it gets a good break in before running it hard or you will be replacing it again soon

What if you put one of those ice packs, that are solid plastic with water in them that you can freeze, on top of the intake duct where the hole is? Would that give you some cooler air for the intercooler or just be a waste?

yes i am going to put some miles on the clutch before running it. i guess i'll strap an ice pack on and just drive around to make sure nothing melts or cracks maybe wrap a towel around the outside so the condensation doesn't drip everywhere.

Try to locate some dry ice and break it up and stick it into the stock duct by way of the hole on top. And then of course seal up the hole before you're run. I think that would work much better than cube ice.

Why not just spray nitrous over the stock IC. or Compressed CO2.

Anyone that can take a new clutch to the drag stip has no concern for price

take off your IC the night before and stick it in the freezer. Drive the car real careful like to the strip and put your ic in a cooler, when your turn comes up, throw it back on.

once again, i'm not taking the car there with 0 miles on the clutch! i plan on putting at least a couple hundred miles before i go. if i had no concern for price, i would have my m2 large right now and icing up my ic would not be an issue.
