Bought my 7 when I was 17, now 20. I have loved these car since late 92 when my dad first showed me the picture of one. Clayne is right though, unless you have an undying love for this vehicle and are willing to put every ounce of your income in to it, than this is the wrong car for you. You will also need something else to drive on a daily basis. I drive a 95 miata, kinda gay, but very reliable. The 7 is for weekends. This is literaly one of the most unreliable cars ever made, no joke. If you feel the same way as I do though, have a paid off daily driver, are very handy with a wrench (able to drop in your own motor, ect.), than maybe this is the right car for you. BTW, dont buy this car if you dont have the money for a rebuild, cause you will need one at some point. I assure you, we have all gone though it.
BTW,
Full coverage (required with a loan) is about 300 per month on this car, with a clean record.

I got mine for 18k, plus, as Bee mentioned, about 300 a month for full coverage. I think I paid a tad much, so I'd set a fair price on a (stock) R1 at about 14-17k depending on mileage, the use of the car, and the gulibility of the (former) owner.
