Unhappy I have a boost Problem

I have a stock 93 with a dp. Car's been running strong and smooth. Today, I noticed a sudden loss of power while accelerating. The boost gauge shows quickly rising to 10 psi then imediately dropping to 0 psi with noticable loss of power. Each time I boost I get same results. Other than that car acts normal. Idles ok. No noticable weird sounds. Thanks for any help.

WHen does it drop to zero? Even if you lose the secondary it should still hold around 5lbs.

I don't believe I ever get to secondary because boost drops as soon as 10 psi is reached. I believe primary must be boosting to enable secondary boost.

Does it boost to 10lbs then just immediately drop to zero or does it fade to zero throughout the rpms?

OK I just went out for a test drive and paid more attention. I do have about 5 psi after 4500 rpm. So I get 10, drops imediately to 0, then at 4500 it goes to 5 psi.

In what gear are you doing your tests in?
If you are doing your tests in 1st or 2nd try a test in 3rd gear
starting wot at about 30 mph. Also, check out this site for symptoms and troubleshooting help.

I was testing in third gear. I will have to spend some time in the troubleshooting site you supplied.

I may have discovered the problem. It appears the primary turbo input hose has collapsed. Maybe tonight I can repair.

It is the primary turbo inlet pipe. It was collaspsed to at least 1/2 of the normal area. I reformed the pipe and took it out for a test. At first all was ok. Then it started again. The hose had collasped again. I either have a weak hose or there is a restriction in the airfilter. I have a K&N. I just cleaned it. I'll reinstall it later and see if that corrects the problem
