I hate my car

I have a 95 and that piece of crap is pissing me off. It broke down the other night when I was driving it, and hell I wasn't even getting on it. The I thought that after I got it towed to the dealership and got it fixed, it would be fine.....not a chance. I was driving just four days after getting it fixed, when it did the same **** again. I got a ride to my house...got my tools....went back and tried to start it again. What do you know...that thing started right up. So I drove it home and gave it a bath. Then I got up this morning and washed it....and when I went to leave for work.....that piece of **** wouldn't start. Nothing...so I was pissed. I went to work, and when I got home I tried to work on it. I am getting no spark at the plugs, and what do you know...no fuel. I don't know what it is, but I am pissed. I think I am going to sell it after I get it fixed. WTF? I just don't get it.

I want to sell this one. But I think that I won't buy another one. I have two of them right now. And when I sell them both I think Im going to buy a Toyota Tacoma. This sports car thing is really pissing me off. You can't drive them all the time anyway. So I don't know what Im gonna do yet.

It looks like you should be taking out your frustration on your dealership not your car. You said you took it to them and 4 days later the same problem occurred. If you take your car to the dealership they will cover the problem they fixed in the first place. You should definitely be covered by them for up to one year. Also, before washing your car make sure you still have the weather striping on the front of the hood and the rear. If you are missing one of these pieces you will end up with a lot of water in the engine bay.

Man, that sucks!! I agree with reckless though; you should definatly take it back to the dealership and get them to work on it again, free. If the same problem did occur. Don't give up, the sports car is most people's dream. Especially a nice rx7.
94 rx7 blk r2

I'm guessing it's cuz your dealership doesnt
know wtf they're doing.

Would be better to find a guy who knows alot about
rotarys, and have him fix it.

That way... it might ACTUALLY GET FIXED
what a concept

Vosko, that sucks. The guy that fixes my car went to classes on just the Rx7 so he knows what hes doing. I think that its the ECU to be honest. No gas or spark, WTF? Anyway..there are only 18 black R2's in 1995. It is the rarest of the Rx7's, even more so than the yellow R1. I checked before I bought, and it took 6 months to find my FD. I'll figure it out.

If it turns out to be the ECU, I am going to get the Power FC. I have a warranty on the car that pays for all of the repairs and parts unitl 77000 miles....so now I just need to figure out a way to get them to buy the Power FC and not know it...ya know.

Unhappy p.o.s.

Man I know how some of you guys feel all too well...my car crapped out on me back in January. I only had mine for just over a year and maybe 5k miles before it decided to puke out a couple of apex seals. During the time it was running I had more problems than I had hoped for as well. And to think I took time off from school just to get it and it just sits there in my driveway...just pisses me off. Anyway, sorry about the rant, but believe me there are plenty of us out here that know your pain. Definately rag on your warranty compay for the Power FC :p

Are you saying that black cars are bad luck???..Because if you say YES, well then i AGREE!..i think black cars are prone to breaking alot. Personally i have bad luck with black cars. Classical example are: my Black 93Bimmer- i hardly drive the thing and check engine light keeps showing up without any noticeable problem. It also hesitates out of the blue then goes away after not driving it for a week. And my Black FCTII. well what do you know, its been sitting for almost 2 years now and waiting for a new motor (on the way)..The black FC will be painted yellow once its all done.

I thought it was the ECU, but everyone that I have talked to says that the factory ECU is great and almost never breaks, so now I think its just a ground, but I don't know.

Why do you think it's the ECU? Just curious?

Bad coil?
Blown Fuse?
Harness loose?
Faulty Crank angle sensors?
Any codes?

What did the dealer fix?

There aren't any indications about the ECU such as blown fuses, loose harnesses, etc...I just can't get any fuel or spark, but the motor will turn over. Which means that the ignition is fine, and the starter, just no spark or fuel. Gotta be the ECU or a ground that is connected to the ECU. Thats why I think the ECU. When I pulled the plugs and had a friend crank it, I can feel the air escaping the holes of the housings, so I know everything is spinning. Only time will tell, and I will post the results of my findings when I know what happened.

I just found out that if you wiggle the engine harness where it goes into the firewall, the car shuts off. Nice piece of ****, but I narrowed it down. Power FC here I come.

I just found out that the whole problem was not the ECU at all, but rather it was the engine harness that comes through the firewall. It was ******* up where the elbow forces it to bend to the left immediately. I got it back yesterday, and I love it again. But don't think that doesn't mean that I'm not gonna get the PFC.

Perhaps if you weren't so quick to say you hate your FD, she'd be better to you

Whenever I feel like I'm going to drive the car off a cliff, or if I slam my head against the wall while working on her (this has actually happened ) I walk away and open a beer. Works for me.

MMMM....Beer. Yeah, I could see how that could work to solve the problem. I used to do that with my FC, but I never got mad at that one. Could be because I rebuilt the entire car. I mean from the ground up, so I knew it a little better. Oh yeah, I had the FD on the highway yesterday.....130+ and I felt like I was going 75.
