I Hate Emissions, What to do?

My car is fully non-seq, turbo back 3" exhaust, no airpump etc. there is no way i am going to pass emissions, I live near chicago and i was thinking about registering the car in Wisconsin, what are the complications with this and what have other people done when faced with this problem? Thanks guys, u are always a great help.

If you register your car in a different state i'm pretty sure you have to have a home adress in that county/state. I'm having the same problem in Va, just look for someone to "pass" you for a little extra money.

Perhaps this is something you should have considered BEFORE doing those mods?

Have you removed the ACV and the air pipe back to the cat? If not, it should be pretty simple to slap a stock cat and air pump back on and you should pass emissions with no problem.

If you have removed the ACV and the air pipe, then either you're going to have to put all of that stuff back in or you're going to have to bribe the tester.

That depends on the tester. Ask around your local crowd. I'm sure they can recommend a place that will take some extra $$$ and pass the car.

I was told that some of the emissions places have microphones and cameras now, but i am going to have to find a way to get it done, it will be a secretive mission for me

Find some other modified 3rd gens in your area, they will probably know what to do.

OR you can move down here to Alabama....emissions? whats that?

Emissions smell really bad, and pollute the air. I wish we didn't have them either

I am having a (one) bill sent to my buddies house in the next county (they dont do emissions). Then I can claim residency there and have just the safety checked.

in wisconsin emissions testing is only for the southern more heavily populated counties. i own a home in northern wisconsin and while i live most of the time in a southern county where they have emissions i state that my fd is "domiciled" in northern wisconsin so it doesn't need to pass.

since ther are plenty of wide open spaces in illinois... maybe they have the same setup. if so, just find a friend in one of those counties who will forward you registration to you.

sincerely,

un-named

I feel bad for you guys, there's no such thing as emissions testing here. The only inspectino I ever had to pass was to get the out of state title transferred. All they did then was match the VIN and take a look at it to make sure it's not a complete pile. You're all welcome to come live here in suck *** NE, lol.
