I don't think I'll Premix 2 stroke oil again, in gas.

MMO will work just as good dif not better than a 2 stroke oil as far as premixing goes

for those that race using premix, aren't you worried that it lowers the octane rating of the fuel? Is this not a problem?

I have been premixing all the time for all types of driving. Two points
- 100% SYNTHETIC 2 Stroke Oil
- Be carefull not to put too much in: I only fill 1/2 the tank each time and put half the dose (50ml for 38lt of gas) so I am sure I am putting in the right analogy
Car runs fine, no smoke, no idle prob.
Just my 2c. (Euro cents should I say hihi)

I believe that large amounts of detergent are BAD for our motors.. We get little enough lubrication anyway - why would you want to wash it away???

Let's see. If you took 125:1 ratio of 93 octane gas and let's just say 1 octane for the oil just for arguement sake. From a ratio standpoint, that reduces octane to 92.264. Yes it will lower your octane, but not by much.

Catalytic converters are designed to burn unburned hydrocarbons. If the oil does not burn in the combustion of the fuel, it will be burned by the Cat. The only way to clog a cat is to put too many unburned hydrocarbons out the engine to the Cat, enough to build up on the cat and cause it to clog. In the 3rd generation cars, the OMP puts much less oil than the 1st and 2nd gen cars and the cats heat up much quicker and probably to a higher temperature, making them even more efficient. If your cats clog because of adding premix oil, your OMP must be putting too much oil in or you are adding way too much oil to the gas. OR more likely there is something else wrong with the car's emissions.

I'm using Castrol's outboard 2 stroke. It's the easiest to find that's TCW3. 1.3 oz/gal gives a 100:1 mix. I'm just wondering if I can find something cheaper ($3.79/qt).

But here's my main concern. On deceleration, specifically in gear on the highway, you'll be a 0% duty cycle. How long is too long when doing that before you lose the protection of the 2 stoke? Obviously there are going to be times that you're going to just coast down to whatever speed without using the brakes, but if you're turning 3k rpm without anything being injected, then at what point do you start to worry about the motor not getting any lubrication, or is it not that big of a concern?

mmo is not a pre-mix. they serve differnt functions. go ahead and put the correct amount of mmo in your 2 stroke lawn mower instead of 2 stroke oil and see how long it will last

MMO works great to keep deposits from building up inside the engine though

staying on the boost and driving the car like a madman works well, too

these cars love to RIP

Diesel RX7

I work in a garage, and we had some 5 gallon cans of fuel which we had taken from the tank of a car which had accidently been filled with diesel. I don't know what the ratio of petrol to diesel was but it had certainly stopped the customers car. I accidently put it in my 86 FC EGI and only noticed it because of the smell and a very tiny bit of visible smoke! Started fine, ran fine, left a diesel residue from the exhaust on the back of the car. Used the whole 20 gallons without problems. What was the octane rating of that fuel? Is this the answer to FD fuel consumption?

MMO doesnt work as a premix??? On my first gen's motor ive been premixing since DAY 1.(blocked the OMP off) Ive put 12,000 miles on her since, and shes just as strong as ever. SO your telling me that my motor has lived 12,000 miles without the effects of premix or the OMP. RIGHT.....

MMO works as a premix, PERIOD
