hows this car?

http://autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ca...or=&cardist=25

well im looking to maybe a fixer upper. Should i get it if the body and interior seems sound and then juss pay to get the engine rebuilt? would that be cheaper or more for my money than paying more for a running car with mileage close to the rebuilt point (70k+?)

It's still a little pricey even if it needs "a little work" and an engine rebuild.

Hasn't that car been up there forever?

Autotrader keeps its listings for quite a while, I'd call ahead to make sure they even have it

The ad reads negotiable, so find out what needs to be done to it and work from there. You may be able to talk him down to $7500 or $7000.

If the engine is shot, it'll cost you about $2200 for a new reman, plus about $1000 for the R&R, add in a few hundred for misc bits an pieces, that doesn't include the turbos.

Or you could possibly find some rotary guys in your area to help you do the R&R and save some money.
