[QUOTE=Scrub;9836702]Same here... respect. Read the thread on how to clean your engine bay then post some more pics

Not having photoshop on this computer sucks big time.... If your Y-pipe looks like that, I'd say it's a pretty safe bet you're non sequential.

Alright I go in there and cleaned her up until i lost daylight. Of course I forgot to take pictures after I cleaned it. Anyway my Y-pipe still has a vacuum pot on it, yet it is not hooked up, also from what I can tell the vacuum system has been purged of sequential lines.

looks like poor-mans non-seq.

make that, uber-ghetto-lazy-poor-mans non-seq.

that non-seq job needs to be on http://thereifixedit.com/

you should really remove any of those lines that aren't getting used.

Well I know what I am going to be doing this weekend, going to see if I can put her back to sequential maybe do the simplified sequential thing. If not then the turbo's are coming off and she is going to be rich mans non-sequential. I will let you guys know how it works out. Going to be a long weekend lol

Mike

Edit: Would you guys recommend using the last picture in the first post to correct this problem

Damn i can not go back to Seq, I have no vacuum or pressure tanks, so I am going to stay (in Cartman voice) "in the Ghetto" lol, I will just clean it up. Then once I can get it to a friends shop take the turbos off and mod em.

personally i have the blitz dual solenoid boost controller (spec r).

no complaints. easy to use, fast, reliable response. the dual solenoid model is a little more expensive than the single solenoid versions, but i think it's worth it.

i was recommended this one from numerous people and i think it's pretty popular.

theorie, the vac map you showed eliminates the Wastegate solenoid from the ECU (I i belive). I am assuming you removed this because the boost controller you bought, manages the Wastegate through its own soleniod external to the ECU then correct?

How much was your HKS unit? Do you have a free exahaust and notice boost creep?

I too am in the middle of the NS swap, and am just trying to take in as much as possible from those who have done it before me.

dfoster, that map has the waste gate just not the turbo pre control from what I can gather out of it, although that line goes to the manifold saying the pre control is in there... must be a typo. The boost controller controls the waste gate from what I have been able to gather. Hmm I hope I am looking at this right LOL

Well I have spent the morning going over this damn car,(i want to punch the bastard in the face that did this to a 7) anyway I have got everything in order except for the dark blue line in the diagram, I can not find where it goes on the turbo, there is no nipples in the area the diagram points to.

I also have a question regarding the turbo precontrol and the charge control. How do they sit at rest? say the butterfly in the charge control is it open or closed with no pressure or vacuum? Only reason i want to know is that i will not be able to get the turbo's out for some time as I am not going to do it in my driveway (I have access to a large shop with a drive over pit that I am planning on taking them out in, I just can not get the car there as it is still winter lol)

Thanks all

Mike
