How to Set Mileage on Cluster?

My cluster went out, replacing it with a cluster that has a lot different mileage. How do I set it to the correct mileage for the car?

Are there shops that have the ability to do that with proper documentation?

DNA Seedometers in your neck of the woods can rest the mileage for you or at least get it close.

There is another option:

Look for DaleClark's write up on how to convert a JDM speedo.

He shows which chip to swap from your old cluster to the new one to retain the mileage. Took me about 1 hour to do it and it was pretty easy!

How expensive are jdm clusters?
And isn't it a bit of a pain to convert to mph?

You can get some pretty nice looking ones, but they are pricey like you suggest. RX7Boutique has a good selection.

I think what he is saying though is you can use the same process to swap the mileage chip from your old cluster to the new one. Doesn't have to be JDM.

Dale Clark found a way to pretty easily calibrate/convert to MPH. The dude rocks.

I did the chip swap when I put in a new cluster. Kept the old mileage just right!
But my trip odo does not reset now.

More than likely the trip button is bad on the new cluster. That is easily swapped over from the old cluster.
