How to polish?

if youre going to do the piping, why not have it ceramic coated or whatever with the chrome stuff? looks shiny and also has better heat dissipation, leading to lover temps under the hood.

Here are a few tips:
1) Knuckles will never polish matter how hard you accidentally push them into the buffer wheel. They will never blilng
2) Elbow and grinding wheels should not share the same space at the same time.
3) Having fingerprints sanded off would only be cool in the movie "Se7en", but I think that has more to do with Kevin Spacey's delivery than said concept.
4) Coughing up aluminum dust stops being neat after exactly 1/2 a second.
G'luck. If you do a search in the "interior/exterior" section, you'll find more useful tips such as mine

aslong as what you want to polish is already smooth then go get your self some neverdull from pepboys or any other auto store.all that it is is cotton treated w\ chemicals, what you do is pull off a small piece and start rubbing when it dries buff to a shine

start sanding, and when you think it's smooth enough, sand for another hour or so......oh yeah, coughing up the aluminum dust does suck major ***........then polish away and put on some shades cause it's bling time....it took me like 4 hours to sand my intercooler then like 3 to polish it.....i would send it to someone to get it done next time....

I'm in the process of moving into a new house and I'm not working much right now. I would be willing to polish your parts for you since I have several days off at a time during my normal schedules. PM me and we'll talk about it if you're interested. There are some pictures of some parts I've polished in the 3rd Gen section from a few weeks ago. I believe Scrub started a thread.

I know how to polish and have learned it's hard work if you have lots of stuff to do...Is it worth it? Personally I say no...I think for my LIM and alternator I am going to have someone else coughing up my aluminum dust.
More photos in sig if interested.
