10,900.00 and it needed some work so the dealer cut me a deal and gave me a kick back check for 3,000.00 to go with it, since he didn't want to fix it or give me a warranty... Oh and I bought it with 77,000 miles on it, and it has 109,000 miles on it now, it's down for the winter for many many reasons...

I paid 10,000 from an owner. I got his 93(actually april of 92) R1. Car had 115K on origional engine. Seat bolster was torn and the caint had a small chip, needless to say it wasn't the best FD but a chep one for what they went for in 1998

$27,500 brand spanking new in May 1993.
I was offered $19,000 5 years ago.
I don't know what it's worth now.
I did spend $10K on new paint last year but the engine is dead.

$21,500 on a black on black 1995 R2. Intake, Cat-back, and boost gauge included. Oh yeah, and a hell of a warranty till the 77,000 mile mark. Right now it has 49,000 on it.

well im from the UK, but based on the current $1.46 to £1, i paid $5840 for my red '92 R1 efini manual with 60,000 miles on the orginal engine, plus a few extras (check my sig).

It had a chipped passenger side headlight cover which i replaced for $20 - thats was all the was wrong.

It helps that im a trader of course !

Normal price over here is about $10,500 for a good 92/93

So do i win a prize then !?!

Chris

I just picked up a '93 Touring with 117K miles on it. It is on its second engine.

I paid $9,600. It has a small boost problem and an oil leak...but don't all FDs...

5 years ago I bought my 93 BB Base with 47,000 miles for $19,100. She now has 64,300 miles and is still going strong on the original motor. About a year ago I got into autocrossing and now she only comes out to race.

I paid $12,000 for my 93 Touring (Red w/ Black leather) w/ 90k on original everything... SUPERB condition... only has 2 oil leaks one is where the OMP connects (will be fixing) and the other in a place that our clubs reX mechanic said will hurt nothing but will just be messy. Have to remove the engine to fix so I'll fix it when I do a rebuild. Other than that it's in prestine condition... not a dent anywhere. The paint is chiped in a couple places up front but no big deal. Passed compression check and turbo check and he put a brand new factory main cat on (to pass emissions a couple of months ago). I basicly found myself a steal!

'93 Base leather 5-speed, Red, 39k on original motor, Borla, RB Duct, Eibach/Bilsteins/stillens, 18" with Michelins. Babied by a collector and flawless in and out. Showcased in July 97 Super Street Magazine. Got stock wheels tires and even a spare set of beige mats in the bag. Paid $18k.

No, the spare mats are not for sale.

4 years ago paid $20,000 for mint condition silver 1994 R2 with 18,000 miles on it completely stock. Just sold it a month ago for $22,500 with 35,000 miles on it.
Great investment, allowed me to put $22,500 on my Viper.

I payed $22,000 for my 93 black R1 it is all original and still is in prestine shape. it had 45,000 miles on it now it has 49,000 and its not daily driven. No oil leaks, no body damage, no stories when i bought it from the previous owner. All recalls for the cooling and fuel systems were done as well. All upper and lower control arms were changed under warranty and all services were documented by reputable shops. I dont mind paying more for something in excellent shape hence the saying "you get what you pay for". For future FD owners i would recommend this buying procedure. Get yourself something nice so you can enjoy it rather then fix someone elses mistakes or carelessness. Sorry to ramble on and on.

got my 93 black on black R1 for 8,500 at a dealers auction in southern california. the only thing wrong with the car was the passanger door handle was broke and a very small dent in the driver side quarter panel. i shopped at auctions for a FD for 8 months before i finally found my baby. all the other ones i saw were either crashed or salvages. i was ready to spend at least 15,000 of hard earned money so i spent the rest on the dent, mods, and a new PC.

$13,500 with 64k and 24k on motor and turbos, with Greddy dp, catback, turbo timer, on a 1994 Touring. I was very happy. No boost/oil/coolant problems with 80k total now.

That was a pretty good investment in a low miles vehicle that you got to drive (not just sitting in a garage). It's so rare that you ever get your money back on a car, never mind actually appreciating!

I bought a stock FD with higher miles [93k] for $13,000 back in 98' and have modded it, so I'll never get my money back. But I sure do have fun driving it and making it faster anyway. Like you, I drive it knowing that my next car will be a Viper, but that has to wait until my girlfriend gets out of medical school.

Later,
Scott

p.s. That yellow RT/10 of yours sure is nice. Personally I want a black GTS (no stripes) but the girlfriend wants the convertible top. Hey, I'm willing to compromise

Scott,
I agree with you about driving them. Who cares about getting your money back, after all we bought the cars for ourselves because we love them, not so we can keep them low milage for the next owner.
Thanks for the compliment on the Viper, I love driving the Viper, I have only had the car for about 4 months now and have put 5000 miles on it (1800 driving it from Denver to Pennsylvania). I wish I would have driven my RX7 even more now, because I still miss it. Who knows, in about two years I am either going to keep the RT-10 and get another RX7 (high milage one) or else get rid of the RT-10 and get the 2001 Yellow GTS since that was the next year yellow was available.
A black GTS would also be sweet too.

Ed
