I payed $18,000 for mine in June. It's a 93 Touring. When I bought it, it had 17,500 original miles on it and it was stock in mint condition. I didn't have to leave the state to get it either.

I bought my 93 silver touring with 59k PRISTINE COND. inside and out for $6500 But the engine was blown. But I thought it was a good deal. Bought a remanufactured motor from atkins rotary with street port and 3mm apex seals $2800. added a downpipe, $200, bought some used ported turbos $500 vacuum lines $100,
buying a pfs computer $500. paying $1000 for someone to install it, for a grand total of $11,600! I dont think that is too shabby!

$17,000 for a 94 Touring with 56k mi in July, with no flaws whatsoever. A little high I'm sure, but it was very well taken care of.

13k for 93 touring. Fully loaded with New motor. Had to rebuild trans did an ACT clutch and needed brakes. Replaced a shitload of interior plastic and did a repaint and powdercoated wheels. Along with Downpipe,Midpipe,Catback, Apexi PFC, And a whole lots of other goodies. I figure I have over 20k in it now after just a year! And its only going to get more$$ this winter with a Single turbo and intercooler etc. It just never ends. I end up with a laundry list of things I need/want done to make it right. Custom interior is also next on the list.

Paid $10,000 cash (he needed the money to finish his race car) to a really close friend for my Silver 7 with only 7500 miles and it still only has 7500 miles (about $20g's later in mods though). My girls car is a 93 R1 with 70,000 miles that we got off Ebay for $4,500. It now has a really nice paint job and a motor with 30,000 miles from our 93 wrecked donor car.

23K three years ago for a '94 R2 in really good cond. from a dealer 46K. I should have looked around more but I fell in love and the bastards knew it.
I've only spent about 10k in repairs and upgrades!! Some investment huh? I do it for the love!!

Best money ever SPENT

I picked up my 94 Montego Blue Touring in June with 80k on it for only $8,300 U.S. dollars. So far I have spent close to $3k on stuff like gauges, boost control, down pipe so on and on...and it just seems to get better every day (joy to drive) smiles to the mile, you know. This is my second purchase of a 3rd gen the first being a 93 Montego blue base model with an Automatic trans. Even with the auto it still had enough getup and go you had to watch how much you got on it and when...I paid $8,700 for it and it had 83k on the odometer both cars on the original drive train and running strong.

I spent $8000 on a 93 auto touring I bought last november. The car had 104,000 at the time and now has 115,000 miles. So far I have only done the reliability mods, vac lines, exhuast, etc. But, the bug has bitten.

I bought a 94 Montego Blue with 61,000 miles (engine replaced at 59,000) in 1998 for 17,000. Probably spent 10 grand on mods and failing parts. Love the car, although the paint is chipping on the hood and front fenders. It currently has 88,000 miles.

Montego Blue 1994 RX-7 $17,000
Greddy Power Extreme exaust, turbo timer, blow off valve and boost guage $1000
Time spent replacing lousy stock parts and praying that the seals hold....PRICELESS

I paid $16,500 for my 1993 Touring about 4 years ago. The car was perfect except for a small leak in the AST. It blew apart as I was getting the car inspected. Fortunately, no engine damage. Currently it has about 85,000 on it and I've just had a few minor problems with it.

Money well spent

1st I bought a 93 black touring with a new motor and turbo's that came with a tye wrap job, catback, blow off valve, and guages for 12800. While I had it I put a down pipe on and replaced oil metering lines cost about 1000. Sold it 18 months later for 13000. 6 months ago I bought a mint 94 touring with glass sunroof and the works for 21500. The guy spent about 11k on mods from pfs. This car is awesome but had some hesitation when the tank got low so I put a supra tt fuel pump in and that fixed it. I won 2nd place for modified 3rd gen recently at the vir mazda expo.
I think fd's are easily the best sports car bang for your buck period nothing else is even close.
