How much would you pay?

Found a red R2 with only 33K miles. It's in almost showroom condition. The seller is asking $19K. Is this a pretty good price or should I work him down a little more? Any opinions is much appreciated...

If you think he is willing to go lower, why not ask? 19k is a good price but I'm sure if you show him 17k cash or a check for that amount, I'm sure he will take it.

For that low mileage i'd say it's a reasonable price. You might be able to get lower, but FDs in that condition are rare. It just comes down to how much do you want it? But what THI said makes sense...come to him with a little less in hand and he'll probably take it. If you really wanted that one i wouldn't go much more than $500 below what he's asking though... Just my opinion without knowing any of the specifics.

R2s are hard to come by and if it is in show room condition then thats even better, so I would not low ball the guy...you do not want to offend the seller but I do think you should try and negotiate price ....but just going off of your description it sounds like a good deal ... but you better check the car out and make sure it is the right car for you and it is everything the seller is saying it is...be smart and do not get tunnel vision!!!!

To some an unmolested 7 outvalues a modded one, especially guys with money. It s getting harder and harder to find low miles. One word of caution. 19K is fair for this car, lowball the guy and he may not want to deal with you. Im sitting on a CYM R1 track car in near perfect condition that Im asking 20 for. SOme kid came out the other day with 18 cash and his dad. The both started insulting me nit picking my baby. I sent them packing and havent returned thier calls since, I just didnt think they were worthy of owning a car Ive cherished like a child. Dont make thier mistake. And dont think for a second I regret missing out on the sale. Id rather die with that car then let someone I have no respect for own it.

In reality, recent market price for FD is going down and I am positive that it will keep dropping being that there a lot of newer cars that can out perform, more reliable and carry factory warranty with a resonable price. However, if you are a diehard FD fans, you won't mind to pay over market price for a cherry. It all depends how much you think it worth.

If they're going down, its temporary. There are still very few cars that can compete with the FD on the track, and only one in todays mid-price line-up that competes. The Misto Evo. Of course, this is my opinion. Perhaps you would like to educate me as I havent ever had a car in the FDs price range (20K) that could even stay in my mirrors...

you could answer a 16 year old's dreams and feel really good knowing your baby is in good hands by trading it for my FC that needs an engine rebuild but would make a great project car

Hey I can try right, the FD is my dream car.

Sounds like a damn good deal to me. Like people have said, dont low ball the guy, people get pissed real quick when you do that. What it really comes down to is what your willing to pay and still feel like your getting what you paid for.

If you do get the car, please dont molest the car. There are not many all stock, low milage FD's around. Good luck!
