How Much Was My FD Worth?

As some of you know my dad crashed my FD on Halloween day.

Now its time to collect from the insurence company, and I was wondering what would be a good price for me to settle on.

Here are the specs

1994 Touring White with black leather and glass moon roof

120,000 miles on stock engine and 500 miles on stock rebuilt twins

Clutch and flywheel were replaced 3k ago with a ACT clutch and M2 9.5 alum flywheel.

Down pipe was also added 500 miles ago.

Car had original paint and interior was perfect.

As far as the whole car itself it was in perfect shape.

Kelly Blue Book listed the car for 15k (thats private party value) but I know its gotta be worth more since RX-7's are rare and the demand is increasing.

Retail value is 17,400 (dealer markup)

I also live in the Bay Area.

How much should I try to get guys?

Hate to give yo bad news....but with 100K + you ar lookng to get about 15K if you are lucky... I highly doubt you will get anywhere near retail value...

I read about your mishap in a previous post-
Did you by chance buy your DP from me (NickG.) at SS4? I was the big tall guy walking around with the pettit stainless dp.!

Your going to have to clip as many ads for Rx7's that you see to prove to the insurance company that your car was/is worth about 17k.

The only thing those reciepts will do is help you show that you MAINTAINED the car VERY WELL thus proving it to be of exceptional value for the age of the car.

GOOD LUCK!!!
