how much money for v-8 conversion?

I want to know how difficult and how much money it would cost to get a v-8 conversion. Also what other options are there, turbo v-6? I would want about 400hp. Also how would this affect the cars balance?

this might help a little... to give you an idea... there are some random prices in there somewhere. I am sure there is no exact price that it's going to cost anyone to do this conversion, it's going to cost everyone different amounts depending on what you want..

what about a grand national swap? can you still get those engines? a v-8 does seem rather large and I do love turbos.

that was just too funny to pass up.

Be even funnier when you realize the "dumb redneck" spent 1/2 the money to make his car twice as quick...ask gnx7, I seem to recall him saying most other cars were afraid to race him after his 60mph rolling brakestands...

- Don't discriminate, appreciate!

for real gnx's get much props.. lord knows they were probably one of the fastest cars produced in the 80's... Wait til you get smoked by one, then you'll respect them.

As far as for your question about using a gnx engine, I think it was brought up before that there are no manual trannys that bolt up to a gnx motor, so that it wouldn't be ideal for most of us wanting to stay with a 5 or 6 speed. I don't know if this is true or not, but this is what I heard. Also as blue goose said though if you pm gnx7 he has a gnx motor in his rx7, but I think it is a 2nd gen although I am not certain. He can probably give you more insight though.
