How much for a fuel pulsation damper?

Anybody know off hand how much a fuel pulsation damper costs? I'd be getting it from Ray.

You can get a ballpark price of Mazda parts at mazdapartscheap.com. Ray is usually slightly cheaper.

If you go with an aftermarket FPR they usually have the fuel pulsation dampener built in. Aeromotive and turbosmart both make really nice regulators.

Something like this http://www.wannaspeed.com/index.php?...roducts_id=302

Not sure how much a pulsation dampener is from Ray, but considering the high failure rate, going with a good aftermarket regulator is money better spent IMO.

If you want to stick with the stock regulator I'll sell mine that I removed. Only has somewhere around 10k miles.

I really want to keep my car stock, how much is involved installing a pressure regulator like you linked to. Looks like it would be cost effective as long as it's simple to install. I don't want to have to screw with anything, I'm just about to do my vac lines and I've been told it's a good time to replace the FPD.

In the amount of time you spent posting this you could have just called him. That being said, when I bought mine I think it was around $120 but am not shure.

Putting an aftermarket FPR isn't difficult if you're at least a little mechanically inclined. The hardest part would be getting to the FPR and FPD, If you can do that you should be able to install an aftermarket FPR. The easiest way would be to tap the rail for a hose barb fitting. It's already drilled to the right size, IIRC it uses a 1/4 NPT thread tap.

Send me a PM if you're interested in the FPD that I have

I suspect packaging is going to be tougher...maybe impossible depending on the FPR if your still running stock sequential twins. Not as much room as with a single car.

I've got a brand new one for sale in my thread. I'll sell it to you cheaper than anyone has quoted you...as long as I don't lose too much money.

its NOT FUN at all, I ended up taking out my airbox, airpump crossover UIM, I/C, ALT, just to make it easier to get in at all that CRAP, make sure you print out a VAC diagram, I searched and found one that was color coded and printed it, if you select printer properties you can adjust to fit and I made it fit 2 pages wide by 2 pages tall and taped them together with clear tape, made the job so much easier...

It's true, it's pain in the **** to get to it(but what isn't on this car?). BTW, if you're going to do all that work, you might as well check all your vacuum solenoids and re-do your hoses with silicone.
