2860lbs with a full tank of gas and my all my stereo stuff still in the car. Without the gas and stereo I'd probably be in around 2650ish.

mine is light. i can't remeber for sure but the guy i bought it from said he had it weighed and i'm pretty sure he said 2523 i suppose it could have been 2623 but i'm pretty sure he said 2523. this was when he was racing it, so the spare tire was out. right now the spare is back in but the car has no a/c, no heat, no airbags, no rear spoiler, the power steering pump is out, a windshield wiper and squirters are out, the horn is out, some heat shielding is off and that gigantic cat and small pre-cat are off. i'm sure there is other stuff taken out but i can't think of them now. i'll have to weigh it again myself when i get it running.

come to think of it, i don't know if the stero was in when he weighed it. it is in now (stock speakers and some cd player). no boom-boom system for me thanks. i don't want the weight and punk rock doesn't need big speakers to sound good.

I've been doing some weight reduction research, and you can gernerally take out around 200lbs. swith your exhaust out for a full turboback 3" exhaust with lighter catback -50, a/c p/s approx 40lbs about 20lbs with a lighter battery, 10lbs with a lighter flywheel,

I've been doing some weight reduction research, and you can gernerally take out around 200lbs to get the car down to under 2600. switch your stockexhaust (88lbs)out for a full turboback 3" exhaust with lighter catback -50, a/c p/s approx 40lbs, - 20lbs with a lighter battery, 10lbs with a lighter flywheel, remove airpump, jack, spare pretty much gut the hatch - 50lbs, fog lights -3.5lbs, airbags -10, rear divider -4lbs. Throw some lighter seats in -30. its cheaper to add HP but you'll do everything else better

He's really not that far off. Our tanks hold 20 gallons of gas. 1 gallon weighs 6lbs, multiply by 20 and that's 120lbs of fuel. Stereo equipment can easily weigh 90lbs, ie: subwoofer enclosure, amps, etc.

I was using more of a 8lbs per gallon figure for the tank which makes it 160 lbs of gas and my audio stuff takes up the rest of that. I also had a bunch of crap laying around in the bins too.

A gallon of water is 8lbs. Gas is 6lbs, but who's counting?

Isn't factory weight "wet" meaning full fluids?
