Some guy told me it weighs 2900 pounds is that right? I though it was 2700. I need some back up here. Was I wrong?

Those numbers are usually off by quite a lot... go weigh your car.. it's a couple of bucks, and it's always nice to know your weight...

Where can you weigh your car at? Only time I ever see scales is in the middle of nowhere on the side of the highway for semi's.

I'm not sure where you weigh the car... ask Kahren, I know he weighted some of his cars. I maybe speaking out of my ***, but I seem to remmember something about using truck stops... their weight stations.... I could be wayy off though... I can ask Kahren later.. or maybe he'll see this post... *srhug*

Sorry I couldn't help much..

Weighed mine at the drag strip. Weighed me in at 135 (correct) and the car at 2760 w/ a full tank of gas and some tools (without me) and 2895 with me. She was bone stock except for the Tri-Point 9.5lb flywheel.

when they smog your car they usually weigh it also... 2,700 is for the r1 and r2 (and that's wayyy off anyways). And the touring editions a bit more heavier

factory says 2789 for base, 2800 (i think exactly 2800) for R1/R2 (remember they have strut braces, spoilers, extra oil cooler = weight) and about 2860 for a touring.

THese are all manual

Yamagichi book lists curb weights as:
base - 2789 lb (A/T - 2857)
R1 - 2800
Touring - 2862 (A/T - 2923)

I have Mazda sales brouchures from 93 and 95
93 says 2789 (A/T 2857)
95 says 2826 (A/T 2881)

When I corner balanced my 94 touring with a 1/2 tank of gas/no driver, it was 2724 lbs. Mods at the time: DP, RB CB, M2 CAI, , RP crank pulley, y-pipe, GAB strut tower bar, N-Tech mini-battery, 17lb steel flywheel, and M2/AD shocks.
