Question how much bhp 96fd jap-spec?

i have a 96 model engine on my car wich i imported from japan wich has a hks blowoff valve as standard.do tou guys know how many bhp this engine has?

96 stock should be 265hp @ flywheel later (99) rz went to 280fwhp but Base (&auto) models stay at 265hp

thanks for answering,somebody told me it was 280bhp.anyway can you help me with another problem i wrote a thread about my fuel tank being half full but needing more petrol to start.

are the 99 J-Specs 280 HP like the Skyline & 22B Impreza is 280 HP or really 280 HP?

no they are actually 280hp judging by the dyno sheet ive seen of them. not 300+hp like the skyline and 22b impreza... but there is no way to tell for sure because as far as i know there is no machine that can test crank hp

what i dont understand is why car companies dont switch over to a testable hp rating system at the wheels so that can be used as a basis to see if the car is performing as well as they say it should... oh wait i just answered my own question

All 96 JSpec models were rated at 265 except the auto(still 255). In '99 the standard RS model was rated at 280 and later on the Type R model also got the improved turbos/280 rating.

There's also Japan's odd limit on how much horsepower a manufacturer can disclose. That's why most of their top line cars state 280hp. and not higher. I thought they were planning on lifting the limit, but I have no evidence.
