for 5k, I'd buy it and ship it from florida to hawaii. That's one end of the US to the other

Since this is the worlds vaguest question here comes the worlds vaguest answer. For the most part an auto is worth less than an identical 5 speed. my guess woudl be as little as 1000 less for a low priced higher mileage FD to as much as several thousand less for a MINT garage queen. Either way the VAST majority of the time the auto is worth less.

i have an auto, i tried to sell it a while back but no one wanted it because it was an auto. had 26k original miles, touring model and pretty much stock and looked and ran like it was brand new. its almost paid for now, so im looking for 5speed parts for a swap sometime this fall

Just bought an auto FD with 65K miles in pretty good condition for $10.5K (purchased in Hayward CA). Obviously an auto wasn't my first choice, but similar cars with manual are selling for $7-10K more around here. Anyone know about how much a conversion to manual costs?

to do a 5speed swap, it can cost anywhere from 2k up. i plan on doing it right, no cutting corners, using ATC S/S clutch and RB flywheel, few other new goodies, and buying a tranny w/ low miles (found one w/ 48k one it). im also paying someone to do the labor. my estimate so far is between $4500-$4800. but ive seen threads on here where people have done a swap for less than 2k doing all the work themselves. i dont have the time or knowledge to swap a tranny out so im taking the expensive road...

my buddy got his for $7500 (3 months ago) with only 41k miles because it had a torn coupler causing a loss in power and some chips in the paint, I got mine for $11,000 at a dealership (5 years ago) with 70k miles but in perfect condition. both had no mods done and were purchased in the (SF) bay area.
