How much was a '93 FD Touring Brand New?

I've searched and googled and couldn't find an answer. Just curious. I'm guessing $31-32K. Not sure though...My friend doesn't believe me that it was a 30k ride.

IIRC the Touring was closer to $40k, it had a lot of luxuries that the other models didn't.

Sunroofs aren't cheap, either are bose stereo systems, cd players(remember this is the early 90s, CDs were just becoming popular), leather interiors...

It really depended on your local dealer and your location in the states . The prices were very different from $32K- $40K.

According to the book, ' RX-7 Mazda's rotary engine sports car' by Brian Long, the RX-7 went on sale in the spring of 1992 as a 93 model with a $31,300 base price. The touring package added $3000 on top of that. By the spring of 93, the base was $32,900 with the touring package adding $3500. Still 93' model years.

I would think that most vehicles like the FD, supra TT, 300zxTT were non-negotiable depending on the dealer...

Did the $3,500 option package include the spoiler? I'm thinking only the leather seats, bose and sunroof but I'm not sure. Let me know....

No, spoiler for non 'R' models was dealer installed. I have a 93 brochure and it listes the touring package as follows:

leather seating surfaces
Bose Acoustic Wave system with CD player
High-reflex paint
sunroof
halogen fog lights
rear wiper
upgraded sound insulation
removable rear cargo area cover

Only other factory option was the $800 automatic transmission, except on R1 models.

Actually most dealers couldnt get rid of the cars towards the end of their production run. I bought a leftover 95 300ZXTT in the fall of 96 for $32K. The MSRP was $42K. I vivdly(and painfully) recall the next week seeing a fully loaded Supra TT 6-speed for sale at a Toyota dealership w/2,000miles and claiming to be a Toyota 'executive car'. They were asking $32K as well. I think they were going for about $48K in 95. In 97, all Supra TTs came fully optioned and were 10K less than the previous years.

If I'm not mistaken, the '94s and '95s topped out at about $43K. Can anyone confirm this?

While I can't confirm exactly, I know from a Motorweek TV spot that the base price for a 95 FD was $37,500. The touring pkg in 94' was $4200 and the PEG pkg was $1800. How that was combined and totalled in 95', I dont know, being the touring pkg was gone. So your estimate seems about right

Well, that and from what I heard, w/ the huge decline in sales of the FD in 95, dealers were essentially desperate to sell 'em, so I wouldn't be surprised if the price topped out in '94 and not the end of '95...

A few things...

1) Similar thread w/ a few more concrete #s... https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/how-much-fd-1993-a-405357/

2) Jimlab had an interesting purchase...

3) From the same thread come the 2 highest quotes I've ever heard of...

4) Here's a '94 R2 window sticker; highest I've ever seen. Have yet to see one break the $40K mark.
