This is a very bad question, sorry. But obviously everyone does something different to their car. Some people drop $20k on it the first year, some slowly put together what they want and some started with a beat-up car. So any comparison is fairly useless. Also, there is already a large poll asking people if you do a search.

i know that, im not talking about the car itself, im talking about things after the car is in good shape and running. the engine mods + any other aftermarket things is what im asking...to clearify

And to reinforce what I said, this is pointless! If you want to know how much people spent on parts, go add the costs from a store. Also, as I said before, there is already a poll on this.

Here is one, there are many more if you search.

i have gone through all kinds of stores and stuff to find costs for engine mods, and a lot of aftermarket things and got a final cost of what it will cost and i am wondering how much everyone has put into their car in the same area to see if the amount that i got is around the same or in the same region

Well for everyone its different... some may say 17k into a car is stupid since it won't hold its value as will a house.. but its all about what your comfortable with.. FD's like money so its its making you feel uncomfortable now... then chances are its not the car for you. Cause I can tell you its only going to get worse....

Pay what you can get it for and deal with it. It doesn't matter what anyone else paid. If you think it's too much, don't buy.

Identical question was asked a few weeks ago (and probably many times before that).

Also, how about having a useful title to your post ('how much' is very bloody descriptive) and save everybody time.

Thumbs down

Instead of asking how much, why don't you ask yourself, when? *When* are you going to buy that FD you've been dreaming about for the past year?

And BTW, search is your friend:

https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/%5Bpoll%5D-how-much-have-you-spent-your-fd-past-year-251252/

Show some initiative instead of asking the same non-descript stupid *** questions every other week.

ok if you would read the question and get your head outta ur *** youd understand that im not asking that question; im not asking "how much you spent on ur car in the last year" and im not asking about how much youve spent (to the nearest 10 thousands). all i want to know is how much you spent on aftermarket all together. the question cant be any simpler. if you dont have an answer to the question stop posting crap.

stop being an *******, ive already planned to buy this guys car from him next year, just ask, dont antagonize me whenever i post something. if you dont like me then stop reading my posts. its the internet...there are plenty of lil kids who dont even know half of what i do, asking more "inane" questions than what i am asking....go give them crap and leave me alone.

Most folks mod their car soon after ownership. The thread I linked to should have given you some insight into how much people spend. Don't know how a genius like you couldn't put 2 and 2 together and see the relevance in that thread. Hello!

And for the 1000th time, how about doing a search for once instead of continually asking your vague, non-descript, inane, STUPID *** questions, and then bumping them up?

Likewise.

just stop reading my posts...
How about you don't post?

and wtf...stupid ***? asses cant be stupid genius they dont think.
An intelligent person could ask seemingly stupid *** questions, however, you're not the former, and all the time you do the latter.

And BTW, who gives a **** how much people spend on their cars? There's no "ballpark figure" - it's all arbitrary; everyone's budget and goals are different.
