This isn't true at all. RHD cars have gone up in value in Japan since they started hitting 25 years of age, but it's nothing like what happened to R32s. I definitely paid less for a RHD model (including import costs) than I would've paid for an equivalent LHD model. In daily driving it could be kind of be a pain I guess, but I don't go through drive thrus and we don't really have toll-booths here so it's not really an inconvenience. The only run-in I've had with the police was when I was driving it back from the port without a license plate and the cops helped me get my car pull-started after I flooded it like a retard. They looked at the import documents, talked about how cool it was, and were fine with it. Registering it was a breeze, although I did have to wait a year for the DMV to get off their asses and finish titling it, which I probably could've gotten expedited if I wanted to spend more time waiting in line.

djseven's response was 7 years ago so things have changed since. the RHD FD's here at the time would have been illegal.

yeah but would allow for duplicates. The VINwiki is done by Vin.
like in my case I bought my car from a member on this forum but I don’t know if he added his car to that list. It’s not a big deal but I was just wondering.

I don't know what you mean by 'duplicates'. The reports in that thread are generated from DMV registration information.

Unless I am missing something, VINWiki will pull VIN histories for individual cars only.
