Spring thing😂

Hi all hope is well. Just a quick piece of advise if ok with you all. I have stripped my engine down after an apex seal went! I’ve laid all the components on the bench and all looks great, so iam lucky. 😂 well sort off. My question is, on my tear down there was no spring in the end of the shaft behind the front bolt section. Or if there was it’s done a disappearing trick as I was looking for it but never saw it.
Has anyone ever had this? Surly all models have the spring?
mine is a 1992 touring x model
thanks in advance
Jamie

they all had it, is it hiding in the E shaft? its kind of a long spring (80mm?) and its a thin wire so it might be like socks in the dryer

Yep it should be in there. If not you would have had some major oil problems.

I typically have to stick my pinky down in there to pull the spring out.
