How long does stock Clutch last?
Tried doing a search but couldn't find much.
I'm curious how long a stock clutch will last with no mods/ all stock.
The second question is how long would a stock clutch last if say you are running around 300rwhp?
And finally, how much rwhp can the stock clutch hold?

if you drive it properly a stock clutch will last the life of the car, or until the stationary gear o ring fails so about 70,000miles give or take.
with 300+rwhp it wont last very long, under 10k miles?
the life of a clutch is 70% dependent on the driver

Depends a lot on the driver. I once asked a dealership what the realistic life is for a clutch. He told me a story of a wash boy who burned up a new cars clutch in one day. Tom

I have just recently added a downpipe to my otherwise stock (suspension mods) FD. I am currently at almost 95K miles. So, what y'all are saying is that I should start shopping for a new clutch pretty soon?

I bought an ACT street/strip clutch w/8.5 lb flywheel and (almost 2 years later) am *very* happy with my decision. Clutch still is going strong and the flywheel makes my 7 rev like a motorcycle in 1st and 2nd gear

thanks guys,
yeah, i would agree that 70% of a clutch depends on driver. Some people can burn a clutch up in a day..maybe less! and some cars can last over 150K with stock clutch...one of my cars did.
So in general, a stock car with a stock clutch driven correctly will last over 50K miles
but once the car is modded, will probally only see another 10K of use.

I just replaced my stock clutch it had 143K and was original. It never slipped until I modded the car, now with my mods when I went over 10 PSI it would slip. So I replaced it. My car was highway driven alot.

mine was starting to slip around 55k miles, and that was with only an intake. it only did it maybe a handful of times. now that my engine is coming out, i'm replacing it. just under 59,000 miles. and i drive it hard

Stock clutch doesn't like hard launches
Mine feels like it's slipping in 1st
25k on 2nd stock clutch. Time to start collecting soda cans to save up for a HKS twin clutch!

The stocker never slipped, but was grabbing so high that I could barely reach the wheel b/c my seat was pushed so far back.

still stock clutch
85K on the original clutch. Plenty of city driving. I started mods at around 45k miles. At this point I would not mind if it went cause the lighter flywheel seems like it would be nice.

I shift all the time; double clutching and all too. And I love to downshift from 5th to 3rd against American Muscle.
First one went at 42K. Second one replaced at 68K but not due to wear as my transmission went bad. The first two were OEMs. Through the first 75K, 10-11 psi.
The third, installed by PFS, was a CFDF and the car is at 93K now.
