How to install LS2x coils with Fd harness.

This is the small (3 connector/1 ground)harness that connects to the OEM coils has a (4) wire female connector on the end.The colors of the wires are:

GROUND-

I have the custom harness made that connects all 4 coils and goes to a female 7 prong clip. I also have a MALE connector that will mate to the LS2 custom harness. In order to do that I have to get the FD3S ignition harness and splice it to the connector.

These are my LS2x harness plug wire diagram-
BROWN- IGNITION OUTPUT ECU
BLACK- 12V SUPPLY
PINK- GROUND PURPLE- GROUND- Lead Front
PINK- GROUND BLUE- GROUND- Trail Front
PINK- GROUND GREEN- GROUND- Lead Rear
PINK- GROUND RED- GROUND- Trail Rear

This is the correct way to splice into the harness to run it as waste spark .

This looks like an ideal upgrade. Cheap, new, reliable etc etc... Replace old coils with new and forget about ignition amps. I will be doing this on my FD and GTR asap. Can't beat the LS2 truck coils. Thanks for this!

Thanks guys

Yes I will be running these on a Power FC as seen and witness on the dyno at RRR in santa ana when Nelson S was getting pretty impressive numbers with zero ignition break up on a POWER FC.

These have the built in igniters already woot woot!!

The main harness is also built to be plug and play.

The bracket is custom I was cutting up some metals strips and angle bars I will be welding them up today.I used Delrin spacers to raise it off the bracket .

NOTE: You must buy Boot ends for these coils because the oem mazda style ones dont work. For that I pucrhased MSD BOOT END KIT.

Heres how they look and my choice of mounting will be on the driver side rail , and i also have a air tube picking air from the front of the car and blowing it to the coils.

They are not much of an upgrade except maybe if you were going direct fire and can control the dwell. Would suggest the IGN-1A coils instead. I ran into break up around 18 psi on E85.

I am keeping her under 14 psi and running pump. Its when you run into high 460+ HP where I heard of break ups

What made you do all that work, just want the headroom for future plans? I see breakup on my oem coils and twin power if I dip into low 10's as low as 12psi but if i keep afr's to high 10's or low 11's Ive tuned to my max of 17psi with no breakup at all with a 35r and streetport.

Well the thing is I am selling my tec 3 and it uses its own coil system wich I dont hvae the oem one. I in the other hand I NEED my car tuned due to "Changes" in my military . On such a short notice I went with a Power FC. I talked to my tuner and decided its best to get these coilds since I will be going Haltech .

I talked to my guy again and he has yet had a car with these coils have break ups. I will keep this thread posted and show results soon.

This is a good video to show the difference between LS1, LS2 and the Truck coils. The truck coils are likely a major upgrade over the factory RX7 coils.

Edit, that vid is no longer a comparison. I can't find the video where he compares the 3 but the Yukon coils are very impressive.

Alex, do you happen to know the dwell settings that youre running? I'm having ignition break up issues with the stock coils and MSD box because Im tuning it kind of rich. I used to have LS1 coils on my FC but that was with Haltech E8.

Alex, I know I'm a new guy to all of this, but the pictures aren't working anymore. I have a 94 with a power fc and I have the ls2 coils to put in. My car is breaking up under load at 5500 - 6000 rpm. Can you send me the wiring diagram or pictures of your wiring so I know how to wire them into my car?
